Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is the therapeutic use of everyday life occupations to support occupational performance and participation. Occupational therapists utilize therapeutic strategies to help increase independence in the activities performed in daily routines. These activities may include dressing, brushing your teeth, feeding, or doing laundry. For children, this could mean appropriate play, handwriting, or catching a ball. Whatever is important to you, it is the job of occupational therapy to assist in helping you achieve those goals. At Red Hills Therapy, the occupational therapist will come to the child’s home, school, or an agreed upon location for the therapy session.
Hippotherapy
Occupational therapy that utilizes horses for treatment is called Hippotherapy. Hippotherapy may look like working on fine motor skills while fastening a buckle on a saddle or practicing left and right to weave through cones while riding. Clients benefit from core strengthening, balance, and the emotional connection with the horse. Hippotherapy is provided at Hands and Hearts for Horse in Thomasville, GA. If you are unsure if hippotherapy is a good option for your child or would like to know more, please feel free to reach out!
